Rust is gone!

I finally have gotten the rust off!! Yesterday I ran sub 9 minute miles for five miles straight. The last 1/4 mile I clocked at 1:50. U2's Vertigo brought me home in top gear. No pain or soreness during or after the runs. I may not be getting older :).

I still have my daughter running trying to help her in her complete another Komen's Race for the Cure in Columbus this year. Numero tres.

When we are out together we don't do more than 3 miles with a break at the half point. There are still two weeks before the race so we are working on her endurance to make sure she will have a decent finish of 33 minutes. For every second under 33 minutes I will pay one dollar. Right now she is at 36/37 minutes for a 5k race.

I think we all need an exciting incentive. It doesn't necessarily need to always be money. There are many time that just helping someone by volunteering, or making something better can be enough to move someone to action. For teenagers however money seems to be a dominate motivator. I am hoping that she will learn a lesson I learned when I was 18. If someone gives you money for nothing you should give some to those that need it most. I will write about my experience at the "Robin Hood" in Kent when I was 18 next time.
